2021 census · what it means at the door
27%Newer homes
About 27% of homes in Clarington were built in 1980 or earlier, according to the 2021 Census.
In newer areas the garage doors along a street often share a style and colour, and homeowners generally want a replacement that blends in. We match panel profiles and finishes closely, or help you choose a deliberate change that still sits comfortably with the neighbours.
78%Mostly houses
Single-detached houses make up about 78% of homes in Clarington (2021 Census).
Detached houses often have a room over the garage, a bedroom or an office, which makes the garage door part of the heated envelope. An insulated door, snug weatherstrip and a fresh bottom seal keep that room comfortable and the furnace from working overtime in winter.
